Delete Your Data
You have the right to request deletion of your personal data. This page explains what gets deleted, how to request it, and what to expect.
What Gets Deleted

Local Markdown files on your device are never touched by the deletion process. You retain full ownership of your local files.
Method 1: In-App Deletion
- Open mrkdwn and go to Settings
- Navigate to Account
- Tap Delete Account
- Confirm your identity and acknowledge the deletion warning
After confirming, your account enters a 7-day grace period. During this time you can cancel the deletion by signing back in. After 7 days, deletion is permanent and irreversible.
Method 2: Email Request
Send an email to privacy@buenalabs.io with the subject line "Data Deletion Request" and include the email address associated with your account.
- We will acknowledge your request within 72 hours
- Deletion will be completed within 30 days of confirmation
- You will receive a confirmation email once deletion is complete

After Deletion
- You will receive a confirmation email once your data has been erased
- Local Markdown files on your device will remain untouched
- Backups in our systems will be purged within 30 days
- You can create a new account at any time — previous data cannot be recovered
Legal Basis
Your right to data deletion is protected under:
- GDPR Article 17 — Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten")
- CCPA Section 1798.105 — Right to deletion of personal information
- Apple App Store Guideline 5.1.1(v) — Apps must include a way to delete accounts
