Analytics

• Anonymized usage events only. No note content, file names, or personal data.
• Opt out: mrkdwn → Settings → Privacy → Share Anonymous Usage Data.
• Crash reports are separate: Share Crash Reports, same screen.
• Opting out disables no features.
• This website uses no cookies and no individual tracking, and honours Do Not Track.

AI

• AI is off until you invoke it.
• Each request sends the content you select and your prompt. Never your library.
• Requests go straight to the provider. We never store or relay them.
• Default provider: Anthropic. Also available: OpenAI.
• For nothing leaving your device: Settings → AI → Provider → Ollama or LM Studio.

Sync

• Off by default. Notes are plain Markdown files on your device.
• Manage: mrkdwn → Settings → Sync. Provider: Apple iCloud Drive.
• Sync specific folders rather than the whole library.
• Turning sync off leaves local files untouched.
• Files already in your provider stay there. Remove them from the provider, or use Data Deletion.

Email and notifications

• Account holders get service email only — security, billing, policy changes. No marketing.
• Newsletter: unsubscribe from any issue.
• Notifications: mrkdwn → Settings → Notifications, or revoke permission in your OS.

California (CCPA)

We do not sell or share personal information. No cross-context behavioural advertising, no transfers to advertisers or data brokers.

California residents also have the right to:

• Know — request a copy of what we hold.
• Delete — via Data Deletion.
• Correct — request correction of inaccurate information.
• Opt out — analytics, in Settings → Privacy.
• Non-discrimination — exercising these rights costs you nothing.
